(Not quite) sweet 18?

And then I turned 18… I want my childhood back :<

I don’t quite understand the hype most teenagers have about turning 18. Yes, you are allowed to drink alcohol now, but didn’t you do that already when you were 14? You can smoke and use snuff legally, so now you don’t have to make friends with the store clerk and have him look away from your ID.

Maybe I’m just being sulky about it because cigarettes and alcohol holds no value with me. Or maybe because I now qualify as an adult. I am expected to involve myself in politics and other boring matters.

No thank you.

But enough about my melancholic birthday-depressions. It happens once a year. I’m used to it.

Here is a song to cheer you up if you got depressed by my ranting

On Friday we arrived in Göteborg at my aunt and uncle’s house. We had fried salmon for dinner and then the others went for a walk. I watched some TV while they were gone. While swapping channels I came across the movie V for Vendetta. It was really good. I like movies with some historical themes to them. V for Vendetta is about a guy that acts like Guy Fawkes who tried to blow up the British Parliament by filling the basement with barrels of gunpowder in order to kill the protestant king.

After the movie was done I logged onto facebook on my aunts computer. Miguel was the first one to post on my wall after the clock struck midnight. Ten points to you, my friend ^^

27  people wrote on my wall and 4 people sent me texts. I feel so loved ^^

On Saturday I woke up to a nice birthday breakfast and presents. I got two really nice tops from my aunt and uncle, and from my mom, dad and brother I got a digital camera, a small camera bag and a memory card.

Here is the camera :D But the color is actually darker. More hot pink. The memory card can hold about 2000 pictures. So far I have taken 364 pictures. I’ll make another post later when I have gone through all the pictures and picked the best ones.

But before I end this post, I’ll ask you:

Have you ever had birthday depressions? I’m curious.

Men bursdaga e egentlig ganske oppskrytt.

  7. I’ve had birthday depressions all my life.. never really liked to celebrate my own birthday (and when I was younger I didn’t like celebrating others either). Now that it ain’t such a big deal (with lots of people coming over and such) I can handle it a lot better! :)

I don’t really remember my own 18th birthday anymore, but I do remember that I didn’t do anything special with the day! It took me 6 months before I even tried going out and drinking with friends. :p Contrary to what you may believe from the new years party we had, I don’t really like drinking either :p

Christmas day was also a low point for me when I was younger, but the last few years have been acceptable at least! :)
